AND HIS FAMILY TELLING US THAT THIS KIND OF SUPPORT REALLY MEANS A LOT AS THEY TRY TO NAVIGATE THIS NEW DIFFICULT REALITY. WITHOUT BRANDON, HIS TWIN SISTER, TELLING IT LIKE THIS. HIS FRIENDS TELL US THAT THEY WERE AT A PARTY WITH OTHER HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WHEN HE WAS STABBED. FRIENDS AND FAMILY DESCRIBED BRANDON AS A GOOFBALL. THE LIFE OF THE PARTY, A GREAT BASKETBALL PLAYER, CARRICK HIGH SCHOOL WHOSE LOVE FOR HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS WAS LIMITLESS. HE LOVED EVERYBODY. HE HELPED EVERYBODY. AND EVERYBODY LOVED AND EVERYBODY LOVED HIM. WHOEVER DID IT, LIKE, I JUST WANT THEM TO DO THE RIGHT THING AND TURN HERSELF IN BECAUSE HE DIDN’T DESERVE THIS. HE DIDN’T DESERVE THIS AT ALL. ‘Half of my heart was just torn’: Loved ones honor Brandon Thomas after fatal stabbing
Family and friends of Brandon Thomas found comfort in each other Friday night as they gathered along the sidewalks near the Mount Washington Overlook to honor the slain teenager.”It was like half of my heart was just torn,” said Nevaeh Thomas, Brandon’s twin sister. “I just don’t feel the same anymore.”Brandon, 17, was stabbed and killed in Schenley Park early Thursday morning. No arrests have been announced.Asked to wear all white at Friday night’s celebration of life, dozens of teenagers huddled together, crying in each others’ arms.”At this time, this is what we need,” said Brandon’s mother, Shatera Linnen, pointing to the significant turnout. “This is what we need.”She told Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 that she has not received any recent updates about the investigation into her son’s death.”Whoever did it, I just want them to do the right thing and turn themselves in,” Linnen said. “He didn’t deserve this at all.”Family and friends described Brandon as a goofy kid, whose love for those around him was limitless.”He loved everybody,” Linnen said. “He helped everybody.
