SOUTH BRUNSWICK – More than 200 firefighters battled a three-alarm blaze for more than 12 hours at a commercial building on Progress Road, Wednesday into Thursday.
According to the South Brunswick Police Department, the fire was first seen on the roof of the commercial building on Wednesday afternoon.
The fire spread into the warehouse and firefighters used heavy equipment to pull the contents of the warehouse apart in order to get to the deep-seated blaze, according to authorities.
Fifteen employees made it safely out of the fire, authorities said.
Fire departments from Monmouth Junction, Kendall Park and Kingston responded to help fight the blaze, according to authorities.
In addition to fire and EMS units, the Middlesex County Office of Emergency Management and South Brunswick Office of Emergency Management continue to work at the scene, authorities said.
