A woman is accused of stealing drugs, cash and gift cards from the veterinary hospital where she worked. Pennsylvania Attorney General Michelle Henry says 42-year-old Heidi Schumacher worked at River Valley Veterinary Hospital in Springdale. Investigators say she was caught on camera taking medications. She also admitted to stealing more than $1,000 and gift cards. “This employee was trusted with access to controlled substances and a petty cash account, and she broke that trust time and time again by stealing for a substantial period of time,” Henry said said in a statement. “The defendant chose to use her position to steal drugs for her own personal needs, so she will now face the consequences of her actions.”Schumaher has turned herself in and faces felony charges.
