Matty Healy‘s rumoured romance with Taylor Swift has sent fans into a frenzy, with the pair appearing to confirm their romance during his appearance at her latest Eras show in Nashvilla.
The pair’s relationship garnered worldwide attention as it came just weeks after Taylor split from her long-term boyfriend Joe Alwyn.
Of course, Matty is no stranger to the spotlight, as he is the son of Loose Women star Denise Welch and Auf Wiedersehen, Pet actor Tim Healy.
He is just the latest in a long line of stars to reach A-List status thanks to their parents, and in many cases have outshone their ancestors’ success.
So, as fans remain gripped by every twist and turn of Matty and Taylor’s romance, MailOnline takes a look at A-List stars that have spawned from B-List families.
Matty Healy – son of Denise Welch and Tim Healy
Matty has made a name for himself as the star of rockband The 1975, performing for thousands of fans on their latest tour.
His rumoured romance with Taylor first came to light last week, with a separate source telling The Sun, ‘She and Matty are madly in love.’
‘It’s super-early days, but it feels right. They first dated, very briefly, almost ten years ago but timings just didn’t work out,’ the insider added.
But Matty is no stranger to fame, given his parents are presenter and actress Denise and sitcom star Tim, who were married from 1988 until 2012.
Denise has eagerly supported her son’s music success, and even brushed shoulders with Taylor backstage at one of his concerts.
She also recently revealed that her rocker son wrote The 1975 song She Lays Down about her crippling depression.
Speaking on ITV’s Loose Women in August, Denise said she once told Matt that her depression made her ‘lose the ability to love’.
‘I told him when he was older that depression robbed me of the ability of love and I used to lay down on the bedroom floor and pray for the ability to love my children again,’ Denise explained.
Phoebe Dynevor – daughter of Sally Dynevor
In 2020, Phoebe, 28, earned critical acclaim for her breakout performance as Lady Daphne in the first series of Bridgerton, and has gone onto star in films such as Bank Of Dave and The Colour Room.
But Phoebe’s mother is also well-known to UK viewers, as she is a veteran star of Coronation Street.
Sally Dynevor has been a fixture on the Corrie cobbles for 35 years, making her debut on the soap as Sally Webster in 1986.
She is married to scriptwriter Tim Dynevor, who also started out as an actor before moving into a career as a writer, penning scripts for the likes of Emmerdale.
The couple have been immensely supportive of Phoebe’s success, with the actress previously saying on BBC Radio 2: ‘She is very proud and excited. I watched the show with the whole family, even the grandparents managed to watch it.
‘I had to sit there and fast forward on high alert with the remote control. We managed it just about.’
Sally also told The Sunday Mirror: ‘I just want to say I’m very proud of Phoebe and, as a family, we are so excited to see Bridgerton on Christmas Day.’
Bella and Gigi Hadid – daughters of Yolanda Hadid
Models Bella and Gigi are the definition of offspring success stories, with the pair becoming worldwide fashion stars after springboarding away from their reality TV roots.
The pair began their careers as teenagers making cameo appearances on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, when their mother Yolanda was a star on the show.
Yolanda appeared alongside an ensemble of outspoken, wealthy women on the Bravo series, who were no stranger to a feud while dripping in designer goods, and was a series regular from 2012 to 2016.
At the time Yolanda was married to music mogul David Foster, and she was previously married to real estate mogul Mohamed Hadid, Bella and Gigi’s father.
Since then, Gigi and Bella have become celebrities in their own rights, regularly taking to the runway at Fashion Week’s biggest shows.
Gigi also caught the attention of One Direction fans thanks to her turbulent romance with Zayn Malik, and the pair are parents to daughter Khai.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight in October 2022, Yolanda said she is proud of how her daughters Gigi and Bella handle life in the spotlight.
She explained: ‘My modeling career 40 years ago, when I started, is very different than today. Because even when you’re famous, you know, I would go home at 5 o’clock and nobody would talk about me or look for me, you know what I mean?
‘They are great at what they are doing. I’ve always taught them to be the hardest working person they can, and to be the first to show, the last one [to leave]. Be good to everybody on set. Not just the people that can, you know, make you bigger in the business, but to everybody.’
Noah Jupe – son of Katy Cavanagh
Rising star Noah, 18, has earned critical acclaim through his performances in 2018’s A Quiet Place and its sequel alongside John Krasinski and Emily Blunt.
In 2020 he earned even more attention for starring in the racy HBO thriller The Undoing, alongside Hugh Grant and Nicole Kidman.
In the miniseries, Noah starred as the son of a wealthy New York couple whose lives are torn apart when Jonathan (Hugh) is accused of killing teacher Elena Alves, and his wife Grace (Nicole) begins to doubt his innocence.
But Noah’s career began with humble roots, as his mother is Coronation Street Katy Cavanagh.
The actress played Julie Carp on the soap from 2008 until 2015, and also appeared in Midsomer Murders, Not Going Out and Birds of a Feather.
Noah’s father Chris also started out as an actor before working as a filmmaker on the educational drama Watch Over Me.
Fans took to Twitter following the revelation about Noah’s following in Katy’s famous footsteps. One viewer wrote: ‘I think I speak for us all when I say the most shocking news of 2020 is that The Undoing Henry is Julie Carp from Corrie’s son?! I’m done’.
Noah, full name Noah Casford Jupe, was born in Islington, north London, and is the oldest of the family, with younger sister Jemma and brother Jacobi. His family moved to Stockport, Manchester where he grew up.
He attended Cheadle Hulme School in Stockport, where tuition prices range up to £12,324 per year, and was a keen hockey player.
Noah was nominated at London Film Critics’ Circle in the category of Young British/Irish performer of the year in 2018 and 2019.
In 2018, he also got nominated at Los Angeles Online Film Critics Society in the category of Best Performance by an Actor 23 and Under for A Quiet Place.
After filming The Undoing, Noah discussed his need to return home to Manchester for some normality – with trips to the Trafford Centre being his hot spot.
He told Dazed: ‘I have no friends. (laughs) I’m joking, I’m joking – I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t have a reality to go back to. I mean, although I love acting, it’s exhausting and I need time off to go home….
‘I’ve just done eight months in New York and I need to go and hang out with my friends. I kind of like that I’m based here in England, because the flights separate the two worlds….’
Lily Allen – daughter of Keith Allen
Music fans will certainly know popstar Lily, who has recorded hits such as Not Fair, Smile and The Fear.
In recent years she has delved into acting with a critically acclaimed turn in the West End Play 2:22 A Ghost Story.
But the singer is actually the daughter of veteran Welsh actor Keith Allen, 69, and his then-wife Alison Owen.
Keith has starred in a slew of television series and films, including 2001’s The Others, 24 Hour Party People, Kingsman: The Golden Circle and more recently Sky’s Save The Cinema.
Soon after Lily’s birth, Keith began an affair with a brigadier’s wife who lived near the set of a film he was working on in Dorset. By 1989, the marriage to Alison had run its course.
The star has had a turbulent relationship with her father, and admitted in 2021, she hadn’t spoken to him ‘for a while.’
Lily told The Telegraph: ‘I haven’t really spoken to him, to be honest, for a while. The last time I texted him was on Father’s Day and he texted back saying ‘Thank you.’ We haven’t connected for a while.’
In 2018, Lily revealed Keith had been left fuming when she claimed he’d suffered a ‘cocaine-induced heart attack’ at Glastonbury festival when she was 13 – when really it was acute food poisoning.
Lily confessed: ‘I got quite a cross text from him this weekend. There was a big piece [in the press] and he texted me, ‘Err cocaine induced heart attack at Glastonbury. Wow.’
‘And I said, ‘Sorry that’s what I thought… I’m really sorry if I got that wrong but that’s how I remembered it and you never explained it to me in any other way so that’s what I wrote’ and he said, ‘Well that’s not true.’
And I said, ‘I’m really really sorry if I got that wrong, what was it?’ And he said, ‘Acute food poisoning’.
On her bond with her dad, she added: ‘I was close with him and in my teenage years I really wanted to forge a relationship with him so I used to go and watch Fulham play every Saturday with him and his mates and things were really good at a certain point.’
