Philadelphia’s favorite football wife, Kylie Kelce, is getting the honor of being a commencement speaker at her Alma Mater, Cabrini University, for its final graduating class.
Cabrini University is set to close at the end of the 2023-2024 school year, making this the school’s final commencement.
According to a decision announced in June 2023, Villanova University will take ownership of Cabrini’s campus, which is located approximately 2.5 miles from the university.
Kelce will speak alongside Dr. Rachel Slaughter for Cabrini’s 64th and final commencement on Sunday, May 19.
Kelce is a Cabrini Univerity Alum who graduated from the University with a B.A. in Communications in 2017. Throughout her college career, she was a “standout field hockey athlete”.
As an athlete Kelce also helped the “Cavaliers win the Colonial States Athletic Conference title two years in a row, and was named the Colonial States Athletics Conference (CSAC) Rookie of the Year, a two-time All-CSAC First Team, and an All-CSAC Second Team selection, and an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) South All-Stars First Team honoree” said the University in a statement.
Dr. Slaughter is a class of 1989 Carbini alum with a B.A. in English/Communication and secondary education. She is also a Cabrini Distinguished Achievement Alumni Awardee.
Kelce will speak at the Undergraduate student ceremony at 9:30 a.m. and Slaughter will speak at the graduate ceremony at 1 p.m.
The commencement ceremonies are by invitation only and will be held on Cabrini University’s campus at the Nerney Field House.
