HARRISBURG, Pa. (WTAJ) — While the Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 58, more than $70 million was wagered on the big game.
Preliminary numbers from the PA Gaming Control Board showed that $71,554,099 was bet on the Super Bowl just in Pennsylvania. While that number is big, it’s 15% lower than the wagers placed in PA last year when the Philadelphia Eagles faced the Chiefs.
After payouts, revenue is expected to be just over $11 million, compared to almost $30 million in 2023, the Board said.
The Board also reported that more than 875,000 online betting accounts were active in Pennsylvania during Super Bowl weekend, according to data from geolocation technology from GeoComply. Last year, the company reported 793,000 online betting accounts in the Commonwealth

This was the sixth year that legal sports betting was available in Pennsylvania for the Super Bowl — the fourth year in which online wagering was available. There were 18 retail locations and 12 online sites where residents could place bets.
