Accumulating snow looking more likely Monday night…
TONIGHT: Winds Weaken, Noticeably Colder. Lo 19. Winds W 5-10 mph.
MONDAY: Increasing Clouds, Cold. Light Snow Develops After 6 PM. Hi 31.
MONDAY NIGHT: Steady Light Snow. Lo 24.
After wind gusts were upwards of 50 mph today along with morning snow squalls, today brought a big dose of colder air. Temperatures this evening have fallen into the 20s, and upper teens are likely for tonight. The good news is that the winds will continue to weaken tonight through tomorrow.
With cold air in place, we have to watch a weak wave of low pressure developing to our south tomorrow on MLK Day. The daytime hours will be quiet, but light snow will begin to move in as early as 6 PM in southern areas. Snow will move from south to north and be steady and light through the night into early Tuesday morning. Scattered snow showers could linger through 10 am-noon as the storm pulls away. **A region-wide 1-3″ of accumulation through Tuesday morning is appearing more and more likely.**
Another weak area of low pressure will run into cold air by Friday as well. We don’t seem to be trending toward the heavy side of this storm, but another batch of light snow accumulation is possible.
