Vincent Miller Preston Jr. (and going by Miller), 87, born to Vincent Miller Preston Sr. and Mabel Preston of Manasquan, passed away on December 30, 2023. Born in Baltimore, Miller grew up in Manasquan, New Jersey, graduating from Manasquan High School. Upon graduation, he went to Monmouth College for a year, and then on to Ursinus College, where he received his undergraduate degree in mathematics. Miller got his first teaching job in mathematics in Long Branch and then, when given another opportunity, he took a teaching job in South Jersey to be closer to Lynn’s parents. Upon retirement, Miller and Lynn moved back to Manasquan where they both lived out the balances of their lives.

He has been inducted into the Haddon Twp HS Athletic Hall of Fame and the South Jersey Wrestling Hall of Fame. In 2023, Miller was inducted into the New Jersey chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, the sport’s highest honor. As if teaching and coaching weren’t enough, Miller was a lifeguard and later Head Lifeguard at the Manasquan Beach for 27+ years
