A — STORE IN PITTSBURGH’S BANKSVILLE NEIGHBORHOOD IS FACING MULTIPLE HEALTH CODE VIOLATIONS. THE COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT SAYS IT FOUND SERIOUS VIOLATIONS AT THE STORE ON BANKSVILLE ROAD. THE DEPARTMENT SAYS EARLIER YESTERDAY AN INSPECTION FOUND ACTIVE SEWAGE BACKING UP IN FOOD PREPARATION AND STORAGE AREAS THAT THE STORE FAILED TO REPORT TO COUNTY HEALTH OFFICIALS. THE MARKET ALSO DID NOT HAVE HAVE A MEMBER OF STAFF TRAINED AS A CERTIFIED FOOD PROTECTION MANAGER. OUR PHOTOJOURNAL ALSO SAW DOZENS OF SHOPPERS LAST NIGHT BEING TURNED AWAY. Banksville Kuhn’s reopens after sewage found in food prep area
The Kuhn’s Market on Banksville Road has reopened after the Allegheny County Health Department says it found serious violations. The Pittsburgh grocery store was closed less than a week before Thanksgiving.The department said Friday that officials found active sewage backing up in food preparation and food storage areas. The store failed to report the issue to the health department. The store reopened Sunday after receiving a new inspection from the health department.
