Maximien ‘Max’ J. Gagnon, 92, of Point Pleasant Beach, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.
The last surviving child of the late Antoine and Marie Gagnon, he was born in Plainfield, CT. He lived there, and for most of his life, in Point Pleasant Beach.
Max was a retired HVAC specialist and was co-owner/operator with his brother, Roger, of James S. Kelly Heating and Air Conditioning, Point Pleasant Beach.
He was a Sergeant in the United States Army and a Korean War veteran. He was an avid and skilled woodworker. He enjoyed the great outdoors and was a former Boy Scouts of America leader.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Joan of over sixty-seven years, Max is survived by his children Joyce Brody and husband, Richard, Kris Gagnon and wife, Gail, Carol Dempsey and husband, Guy, and Sandra Vazquez and husband, Rick; eight grandchildren, Daniel, Andrew, Rebecca, Mark, Melissa, Christopher, Henry, and Isabella; and five great-grandchildren, Claire, Piper, Emma, Oliver, and Samantha.
At 12:30 p.m., Thursday, November 16, a service will be held at the Colonial Funeral Home of Brick, 2170 Highway 88, followed by interment by the immediate family at the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
