Fair Lawn-based Columbia Bank recently announced its 35th Annual Golf Classic
raised $100,000 to benefit a Newark economic developmental agency, Invest Newark whose mission is to propel the city’s strong economy, build diverse communities, and create opportunities for Newarkers, focusing on advancing economic prosperity for all.
Last month over 140 golfers participated in the annual fundraiser which took place at Hackensack Golf Club in Emerson.
“Our Annual Golf Classic is just one of the numerous ways we are able to bring together our clients, colleagues and communities, to support a meaningful cause. On behalf of Columbia Bank, I’d like to thank all of our participants, sponsors and most importantly, Invest Newark, for their dedication to building vibrant communities and increasing economic prosperity for all citizens of Newark,” Thomas Kemly, president and CEO of Columbia Bank said.
Invest Newark’s dedicated team of planners, economists, and innovators are driven to ensure all Newark residents have the resources to thrive. The agency is committed to helping businesses and citizens of the city through:
Business Development: connecting business owners to training and networking opportunities, as well as supporting entities that will retain jobs or bring new jobs to the city.
Technology: deploying the city’s assets to ensure every resident and business has access to high-speed, low-cost internet service.
Housing: increasing the city’s homeownership rate by redeveloping long vacant properties and selling them at affordable prices, thus generating wealth for the owners.
Columbia Bank would like to extend a special thank you to its sponsors, whose contributions were directly donated to Invest Newark
