Joe Biden has blood on his hands. But, others share his responsibility.
Prior to the 2020 presidential election, “Never-Trump” Republicans and certain self-proclaimed “conservative” party “elites” pimped Joe Biden as a competent moderate in the apparent belief that they could reclaim “their” party from outsider/interloper President Donald Trump and return to business as usual.
In fact, in August 2020, more than 130 Republican national security officials endorsed Biden, proclaiming: “[W]e believe Joe Biden has the character, experience, and temperament to lead this nation. We believe he will restore the dignity of the presidency, bring Americans together, reassert America’s role as a global leader, and inspire our nation to live up to its ideals.”
Years earlier, one of them, Robert Gates, Secretary of Defense under Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, published a book that included this: “… [Joe Biden] has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.”
Gates stood by that statement in 2019 when Biden declared his candidacy for the presidency.
But, then, after Democrats failed to field an even marginally credible alternative, everything changed – at least for Gates and much of the Republican establishment.
Now, Republicans who glossed over Joe Biden’s ridiculous 2020 basement “campaign,” and ignored all past evidence and every new sign of his incompetence, mediocrity and infirmities, act as if no one could have seen Biden’s failures coming.
Any rational, thinking, informed adult voter should have seen – could see – that electing a barely cognizant man nominated by a party that bends over backward to normalize and avoid upsetting relative handfuls of political, social, sexual and cultural misfits was destined to end badly.
When Biden immediately reversed every Trump-era success following his inauguration, he indicated that he prioritized adolescent grudge-settling over serious, adult leadership serving the nation’s best interests.
By abandoning his former (accurate) evaluation, Secretary Gates bears special responsibility for the current calamitous circumstances at home, in the Middle East and elsewhere.
Thirteen American service members were killed during Biden’s disastrous August 2021 withdrawal from Afghanistan. Billions of dollars of abandoned US equipment and weaponry fell into the hands of Taliban mountain tribesmen, some of which turned up in Gaza and were used by Hamas terrorists in savage sneak attacks on Israel that featured civilian massacres, mutilations, beheaded babies, rapes and kidnappings.
Forget “random terrorist attacks,” Hamas’ atrocities were coordinated acts of war.
Biden’s foreign policy blunders include his financial support for Hamas and a $6 billion “hostage release” giveaway to Iran, funds supposedly limited to “humanitarian purposes” that inspired Hamas to take hostages.
Clearly, Iran’s mullahs’ definition of “humanitarian purposes” differs from that found in most — even White House — dictionaries.
Not coincidently, Iran funds Hamas as a proxy in Iran’s ongoing threats against Israel.
Responding to questions about Hamas’/Iran’s war on Israel, Secretary of State Antony Blinken admitted that “Iran has unfortunately always used and focused its funds on supporting terrorism.”
The Biden administration and Democrats, generally, refuse to identify genuine terrorists. Instead, they single out and describe concerned parents who attend school board meetings, Catholics and millions of Trump voters they call “white supremacists” and/or “MAGA extremists” — people who merely disagree with them – as America’s greatest terrorist threats.
In less than three years, Joe Biden has foolishly (maliciously?) opened America’s borders to illegal aliens, disease, criminals, and, very likely, enemy and terrorist infiltrators; made inflationary shambles of middle-class family budgets; destroyed our energy independence; depleted America’s strategic petroleum reserve; and his administration’s foreign policy fecklessness has emboldened unfriendly European, Asian and Middle Eastern nations to engage in aggressions against neighbors.
Furthermore, in covering America’s petroleum industry, the Houston Chronicle reports: “[Biden administration] … [s]lowdowns in oil and gas drilling permits for federal lands and the Gulf of Mexico is drawing allegations by oil companies…that the Biden administration is purposefully trying to reduce domestic oil production…”
In other words, as domestic supplies dwindle, and demand continues to rise, America’s dependency on foreign sources will increase, and the price of oil — of everything — will spike again, as will pressures on family budgets, individual drug use, mental health and suicides.
There is a direct line from Biden administration policies to needless suffering and deaths.
Joe Biden and his administration have blood on their hands. Republicans who promoted Biden’s presidency, Biden voters and his corporate media cheerleaders are accessories.
