September 1: The Rich Reinhart Junior Clamshell Pitching Tournament, named for the founder of the International Clamshell Pitching Club of Cape May, is open to kids ages 6 to 17. Each player tosses a clamshell about 25 feet towards a small hole in the sand. Shells are provided, or kids can bring their own lucky clamshells. Windsor Beach (across from Congress Hall); noon. September 1-4: It’s a bird … no, it’s a plane—and lots of them! This year’s AirFest from the NASW Aviation Museum in Cape May will feature aircraft performing aerial acrobatics. Attendees can also enjoy live music, food and more. 500 Forrestal Road; 10 am–4 pm. $14–$18; children under three, FREE.
September 2 (rain date: September 3): Spend Saturday night on the beaches of Manasquan listening to music and watching fireworks light up the evening sky. Main Beach; 7:30-10 pm. FREE.
September 2: At Ed’s Funcade in Wildwood, players vie for skee-ball glory, a trophy and a $1,000 Amazon gift card. Lincoln Ave and Boardwalk; 7-10 pm. FREE.
September 2: End summer with a bang in Atlantic City with a mesmerizing fireworks display. Tropicana beachfront; 10 pm. FREE.
September 2-4: Sample brews and barbecue at this annual three-day festival at the Monmouth Park Racetrack in Oceanport. Offerings include tender pulled pork, juicy brisket, smoky ribs and more. Wash it all down with an ice-cold craft beer from a selection of more than 40 options. Live music and free parking make this festival even more of a must. 175 Oceanport Avenue; 11 am–5 pm. $6 per day.
September 3: This festival will be rocking the block in Wildwood’s Fox Park. Visitors can enjoy crafts, games, rides, food and live entertainment. Ocean Avenue, directly across from the Wildwoods Convention Center; 1-10 pm. FREE.
September 3: Head to LBI’s Barnegat Light for a shopping spree, where more than 70 vendors will sell handmade wares. This event will be held rain or shine. 19th Street and Bayview Avenue; 10 am-4:30 pm. FREE.
September 4: Lace up your sneaks and get your heart pumping in Ocean City. Participate in the five-mile or one-mile run/walk to benefit local recreation scholarships and programs. 23rd Street Beach; race starts at 9 am. $15-$35.
