JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WTAJ) — A 16-year-old is facing charges after he allegedly told police that he shot a person twice.
On April 4, the Johnstown Police Department were called to the 700 block of Grove Avenue for a report of a shooting. The victim had suffered two gunshot wounds to his leg in the calf and knee areas, according to the criminal complaint. Tyjir Graham, 16, allegedly told police he was the shooter and was arrested.
In an interview with police, officers told Graham that he could have his parents present when they spoke to him, but allegedly he denied it. Graham told police that he was friends with the victim and that the victim came to fight him, according to court documents.
The altercation between Graham and the victim then escalated and that’s when Graham said he shot the victim twice. Graham said he shot him twice in the leg and then allegedly gave the firearm to someone else. He refused to tell officers who he gave the gun, where he got the gun or from who he had gotten the gun, according to police.
Graham is in Cambria County Prison with bail set at 10% of $75,000. He is facing felony charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault with an attempt to cause serious bodily injury, possession of a firearm by a minor and recklessly endangering another person.
