(NASHVILLE, TN) — With strong ties to the Garden State, rock artist MiMo The Musician has released his latest single, “Love The Most Dangerous Drug.” It details a rollercoaster romance from MiMo’s college days, including his time at Montclair State University, and spanning locations such as Bayonne, North Bergen, and Whippany. Produced by Grammy award winner Dave Hagen, the song is available on all major streaming platforms.
As delicate guitar strums gradually swell into a richly layered sonic tapestry, MiMo narrates the highs and lows of an addictive love, where passion and destruction collide.
“It’s about two very different people who are deeply in love but fundamentally wrong for each other,” said MiMo. “You want to stop but you also don’t. It’s a constant merry-go-round of yeses and nos.”
During his years performing with various bands across New Jersey, MiMo quietly amassed an impressive collection of unreleased songs. “Love The Most Dangerous Drug,” although a fan favorite, remained among these hidden gems. When MiMo embarked on his solo career, it was his most anticipated track to record. He hopes the song can offer solace to listeners who have endured comparable tumultuous relationships.
“It’s easy to feel alone in situations like these, even though many have experienced them,” reflects MiMo. “So, expressing it in a song where people can truly hear and feel the dichotomy of this type of relationship is cathartic.”
MiMo earned his Bachelor’s in Music Education from Montclair State University and his Master’s in Music Education from New Jersey City University. He spent five years teaching at local studios and public schools before pursuing his solo career in Nashville Tennessee.
“Love The Most Dangerous Drug” is the second official single released ahead of MiMo’s debut album and will be accompanied by a music video in the near future. More single releases as well as the album release date will be announced soon.
