Severe Weather Alert Day Tuesday
STANDING BY TALKING ABOUT ROUND TWO TODAY OF THIS SEVERE WEATHER. YEAH, SEVERE WEATHER ALERT DAY. AND WE’VE ALREADY SEEN SOME WEATHER ISSUES ACROSS THE AREA WITH SATURATED SOILS AND THE WIDESPREAD RAIN WE HAD THIS MORNING, THERE WERE A NUMBER OF FLOODING ISSUES, FROM CLOSED STREETS TO RISING LEVELS ON STREAMS AND CREEKS. AND WE’RE CERTAINLY NOT DONE YET. I EXPECT WE’LL SEE ADDITIONAL FLOODING ISSUES MOVING FORWARD. MORE RAIN ON THE WAY RIGHT NOW. YOU CAN SEE THE NEXT ROUND OF RAIN SHOWERS KNOCKING ON THE DOOR, JUST SPILLING OVER INTO PARTS OF GREEN AND SOUTHERN WASHINGTON COUNTY. EVERYONE’S GOING TO PROBABLY SEE AT LEAST A PERIOD OF SOME LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN, AS WE HEAD BETWEEN NOW AND ABOUT 6:00 THIS EVENING. SO LOOK FOR ADDITIONAL FLOODING ISSUES RIGHT NOW. FLOOD WARNINGS CURRENTLY IN EFFECT IN THE GREEN SHADED AREA. THIS IS FOR A CONTINUATION OF RISING LEVELS ON STREAMS AND CREEKS. SO IF YOU’RE OUT THIS EVENING, BE AWARE THAT STREAMS AND CREEKS WILL LIKELY CONTINUE TO RISE. FLOOD WATCH WILL BE IN EFFECT UNTIL 8:00 TOMORROW MORNING. INCLUDES MOST OF THE AREA. SO HERE’S OUR LATEST ROUND COMING THROUGH. THERE LIKELY WILL BE AN ADDITIONAL BREAK, AND THEN THEY’LL BE PROBABLY ANOTHER ROUND COMING IN LATER ON THIS EVENING. THAT SECOND ROUND LATER ON THIS EVENING COULD BE THE ONE THAT INCLUDES SOME THUNDERSTORMS IN THE MIX AS WELL. RIGHT NOW, BIG TEMPERATURE DISPARITY ACROSS THE AREA. MID 50S IN THE ROUTE 420 TWO QUARTER BETWEEN KITTANNING AND NEW CASTLE. MEANTIME, LOW 70S IN WAYNESBURG, UNION TOWN AND MORGANTOWN. SO QUITE A TEMPERATURE DIFFERENTIAL 15 TO 17 DEGREES FROM NORTH TO SOUTH. AS WE HEAD THROUGH THE EVENING, WE OPENED UP THAT OPPORTUNITY TO SEE SOME SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS MIXED IN WITH SHOWERS BY MID TO LATE EVENING. THEN THE SHOWER THREAT STARTS TO TAPER OFF OVERNIGHT TONIGHT. COOLER DAY TOMORROW WITH TEMPERATURES PROBABLY PEAKING IN THE MORNING AND THEN COOLING A TOUCH IN THE AFTERNOON. WE’LL ALSO MIX IN A COUPLE SCATTERED SHOWERS FROM TIME TO TIME THIS IS 730 THIS EVENING. YOU CAN SEE KIND OF THAT BREAK IN THE ACTION. THEN WATCH HOW THINGS FILL IN AGAIN BY NINE, TEN AND 11:00 THIS EVENING. THUNDERSTORM THREAT FOR PARTS OF THE AREA COULD INCLUDE SOME GUSTY WINDS AND SMALL HAIL. THEN BY TOMORROW MORNING, STILL SOME SHOWERS IN THE AREA, BUT THEY WILL TAPER OFF TO JUST A FEW HANDFUL OF SHOWERS BY LATE IN THE DAY TOMORROW AS TEMPERATURES THEN BEGIN TO COOL. SO THE MAIN WEATHER THREATS HEADED THROUGH THIS EVENING WILL BE FOR ADDITIONAL RAIN AND FLOODING TO A LESSER EXTENT. SOME DAMAGING WIND GUSTS AND SIZABLE HAIL. YOUR FORECAST FOR TONIGHT 48 DEGREES SHOWERS. A COUPLE OF THUNDERSTORMS IN THE MIX. THEN FOR TOMORROW, HIGH OF 54. THAT’S REACH LIKELY IN THE MORNING, THEN COOLING A TOUCH IN THE AFTERNOON WITH SOME SCATTERED RAIN SHOWERS AND YOUR FOUR DAY PLUS FOUR MORE. COULD HAVE A COUPLE SNOWFLAKES AROUND ON THURSDAY, MAYBE EVEN ONE FRIDAY MORNING. DON’T LET IT DISCOURAGE YOU. SHOULD BE GONE BEFORE THE FIRST PITCH AT 412 FRIDAY AFTERNOON, BUT IT WILL BE CHILLY 46 FOR THE HOME OPENER AND THEN RECOVERING
