CHESTER, Pennsylvania (WPVI) — Police in Chester, Pennsylvania are searching for a child who they say was swept away into a creek on Saturday.
Emergency crews were called just after 7 p.m. for reports that a 6-year-old was swept into Chester Creek off of 8th Street.
Authorities in Delaware County are now searching the creek for the child.
Officials did not release any descriptions of the child or their identity.
This comes as heavy rain soaked the Philadelphia region on Saturday.
Parts of Delaware and Montgomery counties saw flooding as a result of the downpour. Some areas even temporarily closed off roadways due to flooding.
Anyone with information on this incident is urged to contact the police immediately.
