There are three levels of membership in the Montgomery County Food Policy Council:
Leadership Team Member
The Leadership Team is responsible for providing strategic guidance and direction for the development of the Council. It will support the Working Groups and advance recommendations for policies and funding allocations. You must apply to join the Leadership Team. For more information on the responsibilities of Leadership Team members and to apply, see the Leadership Team Applications tab.
Term: 1 or 2 years
Working Group Member
The Working Groups will be an opportunity to convene stakeholders to develop solutions for identified priorities. The Working Groups are where policy proposals, program recommendations, white papers, and other similar outputs will be developed. They may also conduct outreach, research, and community engagement as needed.
Working Group membership is open to anyone who is interested in participating. Each Working Group will determine how frequently it would like to meet.
General Member
General Members are those who do not participate in a Working Group or on the Leadership Team, but are still connected with and involved with the Council. This can be attending bi-monthly General Membership Meetings, contributing updates and information to the Council, participating in Council events, surveys, and other activities, and subscribing to Council communications channels. General membership is open to anyone; there is no membership requirement or minimum commitment to become a general member. Sign up here to become a general member and receive email updates about the MCFPC.
