THIS HOUR? WELL, WE CAN TELL YOU THE TWO MEN WERE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY HERE IN BETHEL PARK AFTER A PURSUIT OF A CAR WITH SUSPECTS GUARDRAIL. BEHIND US IS WHERE THE VEHICLE HAD CRASHED A SHORT TIME AGO. HERE’S WHAT ONE WITNESS TELLS US THAT SHE SAW WHEN THE CAR CRASHED HERE ON CLIFTON ROAD. JUST OFF OF LIBRARY ROAD. WE LOOKED OUT THE WINDOW AND SAW TONS OF COP CARS. I MEAN, PEOPLE EVERYWHERE. OUR, UM. THE CAR BEHIND ME WAS CRASHED ALREADY AT THAT POINT. UM, BUT THEN WE LOOKED FURTHER AND THERE WERE TWO GUYS TAKING OFF IN OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS INTO THE WOODS BACK BEHIND US. THAT’S JAMIE BRUNO OF DIANA DAMRAU AND COMPANY, NOW ALLEGHENY COUNTY POLICE SAY THERE WAS A CASE OF SHOTS FIRED AT A RESIDENCE IN CLAIRTON LATE THIS MORNING. A CAR OF INTEREST IN THAT CASE WAS SPOTTED ON ROUTE 51, AND WHITEHALL AND BRENTWOOD POLICE WERE INVOLVED DURING A TRAFFIC STOP OF THAT VEHICLE DURING THAT TRAFFIC STOP, THREE MEN WHO HAD BEEN IN THE CAR RAN. ONE WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY. SOMEHOW, TWO OF THE OTHERS MADE IT BACK TO THE CAR AND MADE OFF AGAIN IN THAT CAR. THOSE OTHER TWO WERE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY HERE IN BETHEL PARK AFTER THAT CRASH. NOW TAKE A LOOK AT THIS VIEWER VIDEO. YOU CAN SEE POLICE PURSUING ONE OF THE TWO MEN WHO WERE CAPTURED HERE IN BETHEL PARK. ONE WITNESS SAYS THAT, UH, AS THAT MAN RAN TOWARDS THE DUMPSTER, HE WAS TASED BY POLICE, WHO THEN TOOK THAT SUSPECT INTO CUSTODY. ALL OF THIS, A STARTLING SPECTACLE FOR PEOPLE WHO WERE WATCHING NEARBY. IT JUST WAS CRAZY. THE WORLD’S JUST A CRAZY PLACE NOWADAYS. AND, YOU KNOW, I’M GLAD THAT NOBODY ELSE REALLY GOT HURT IN THE PROCESS OF THIS ALL HAPPENING. BUT YEAH, IT WAS NUTS. SO AGAIN, IN TOTAL, THREE PEOPLE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY. A shooting investigation in Clairton ended in Bethel Park Friday after two of the three suspects attempted to flee from police.Allegheny County police say they were called to a report of shots fired into a residence on the 800 block of 3rd Street in Clairton around 11:40 a.m. Investigators were able to develop the description of a vehicle of interest.About 30 minutes later, officers with Whitehall and Brentwood police spotted the vehicle along Route 51 and attempted a traffic stop. Police say three men ran from the vehicle. Officers were able to take one man into custody, but the other two were able to get back in the vehicle and flee the scene.A short time later, the vehicle was spotted in Bethel Park and Bethel Park police began to pursue it. The vehicle lost control and crashed at the intersection of Library Road and Clifton Road. Police said the two men then fled on foot. Both were taken into custody after a brief pursuit on foot. Police say all three individuals involved in the incident are now in custody. A firearm was also recovered during the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the county police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS. The names of the three men in custody were not immediately available.
