WASHINGTON, D.C. (WTAJ) – The 2024 Congressional Art Competition is now accepting entries, U.S. Representative Glenn “GT” Thompson announced on Wednesday.
Each spring, the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives sponsor a nation-wide high school arts competition within their district, and all high school students in Pennsylvania’s 15th Congressional District are able to participate by submitting their paintings, drawings, collages, prints, mixed media, computer-generated art and photography.
All participating students from the 15th Congressional District will have their artwork displayed in the Winkler Gallery of Fine Art in DuBois. The winners of each district’s Congressional Art Competition will have their artwork displayed in the United States Capitol for a full year and be invited to a ceremony in Washington, D.C. The winning artwork is also featured online on the Congressional Art Competition page.
“The Congressional Art Competition is a great way to foster creativity and encourage young artists in our communities,” Rep. Thompson said. “I am looking forward to seeing all the entries and welcoming the winning student to Washington, D.C.”
