PERRY COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– A man was killed in a Perry County crash Wednesday evening after he lost control of his vehicle, according to Troopers.
The crash report from State Police in Newport states that a man was driving his 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander before he crashed on Newport Road (SR 849), prior to the intersection with Narrows Road in Miller Township just before 7:30 p.m.
As he was driving west, State Police say he lost control of his vehicle and veered off the side of the road before he ended up swerving into a guide rail on the other side. After he hit the rail, he struck an embankment and then the vehicle overturned onto its driver’s side.
The driver was partially thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene by the Perry County Chief Coroner, Troopers say.
The crash caused a closure on Newport Road for 2.5 hours.
State Police were assisted by Newport Fire and EMS, the county’s coroner’s office and Fuller’s Towing.
