Rebecca Hughes, a deputy director of research for Republican Leader Anthony Bucco and the Senate Republican Caucus, has joined the Advocacy & Management Group as a vice president, the firm announced Monday.
Hughes began in her new role Monday.
Hughes has spent close to a decade working in legislative affairs. In her tenure at the State Senate Republican Office, she served multiple Republican leaders and has worked on the development and advancement of many important policy initiatives. She also helped lead the research staff and has served as the subject matter expert on education and environmental policy for the Republican Senate Caucus.
Advocacy & Management Group CEO A.J. Sabath said Hughes will be a great addition to the team.
“Rebecca’s deep legislative policy background will be a huge asset to the firm, and we are so pleased to welcome her as vice president,” he said. “We are looking forward to Rebecca sharing her years of experience in state government to help AMG clients navigate the challenging labyrinth of state government.”
Hughes said she’s eager to get started.
“I am excited to join such a talented team of government affairs professionals on State Street,” she said. “I look forward to helping AMG clients meet the challenges of the legislative session, and I owe a debt of gratitude to the amazing individuals with whom I have worked on both sides of the aisle at the state capitol.”
Hughes earned her master’s degree in public policy from Monmouth University and her bachelor’s degree from Ramapo College of New Jersey.
In 2023, she was elected to the township committee of Chesterfield, where she lives with her husband, kids and rescue dogs.
