All Things Oscars®: In Conversation with Daniel Battsek – Monday, March 4 at 7:30pm at Cinema505. Join Daniel Battsek, Montclair Film Board Member and Executive Producer of two of this year’s Oscar-nominated films, Poor Things and The Zone of Interest, in conversation with Montclair Film’s Co-Head/Artistic Director, Tom Hall as they breakdown this year’s Academy Award® nominations, controversies and snubs. Special sneak preview of Robot Dreams – Wednesday, March 6 at 6:00pm at The Clairidge. This Oscar® nominated film from the 2024 Montclair Film Festival won’t be in theaters until this summer, but you can see it on March 6th at The Clairidge. Dog lives in Manhattan and he’s tired of being alone. One day he decides to build himself a robot, a companion. Their friendship blossoms, until they become inseparable, to the rhythm of 80’s NYC. One summer night, DOG, with great sadness, is forced to abandon ROBOT at the beach. Will they ever meet again? A family-friendly, heartwarming tale that is loved by kids and adults alike. Special advanced screening of Frida followed by a Q&A with local Director Carla Gutierrez – Thursday, March 7 at 7:00pm at The Clairidge. Straight from the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. An intimately raw and magical journey through the life, mind, and heart of iconic artist Frida Kahlo. Told through her own words for the very first time — drawn from her diary, revealing letters, essays, and print interviews — and brought vividly to life by lyrical animation inspired by her unforgettable artwork. Women in Reel Life: The Voices Behind the Camera – Tuesday, March 12 at 7:00pm at Cinema505. Women are breaking barriers and shaping the future of the film and entertainment industry. Hear from these powerhouses in New Jersey film and entertainment about their careers, their challenges, and the opportunities that exist in a reimagined industry. Panelists include Elizabeth Parchment (NJEDA), Catherine Minervini (IMAGE 819), Nina Sloan (1st AD and UPM), Sara Corrigan (Editor), Kim Woodward (National Geographic), and Janice Kovach (Mayor of Clinton). Moderated by Producer and NJ Studio Owner Gail Barringer. Presented in partnership with the NJEDA. This is a free event but tickets must be reserved in advance here.

One night only screening of Fioretta followed by Q&A with the film’s subject Randy Schoenberg – Thursday, March 14 at 7:00pm at The Clairidge. History-obsessed Randy Schoenberg (memorably portrayed by Ryan Reynolds in Woman In Gold) brings his reluctant teenage son Joey along for the journey of a lifetime, through Europe and the centuries, to reclaim 500 years of their family story.
