Genevieve O’Brien passed at home, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
The majority of her life was defined by her role as nurse and mother. She was the neighborhood critical care center, she made everyone feel like they were home. All the people in her circle became her family. She always had a spare bed for someone who was in between homes or just needed a place to feel at home.
The love of her life Robert O’Brien left her with 3 teenage children and somehow, despite the efforts of those children she got them to capable adulthood.
She was an avid traveler with trips to Ireland, England, Denmark… and Disney, Disney, Disney. She loved her trips with her family.
She loved social events and clubs and was a member of the Women of Irish Heritage and the Red Hats. She gave generously to charities including St. Judes, Habitat for Humanity and St. Catharine’s church.
She always had a smile, was always ready to have a drink with friends, never was without snacks in her purse or a ziplock bag to take some home. She was the life of the party, capable of fixing a car, or doing a suture on a camping trip. A strong independent confident woman. So confident, that as she would tell you, she was never wrong.
She is survived by her children Robert his wife Megan, Thomas his wife Lisa, Megan her husband Michael, her niece Mary and her six grandchildren Kayleigh her husband Sharbel, Declan, Cassidy, Riley, Finn and Brendan and her brothers Joe Tully his wife Pat and Jack Tully and his wife Jane. As well as countless other official and unofficial nieces and nephews that have come into her life.
