HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — PennDOT announced that nighttime rolling stops are scheduled for this week in both directions of Interstate 83 in the area of 29th Street near Harrisburg.
The stops will be in place so a utility contractor to string telecommunications lines across the interstate near 29th Street. The work is needed and associated with the reconstruction of Interstate 83 in the Harrisburg area.
Weather permitting, rolling stops will begin on I-83 between 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM the night of Monday, Feb. 19. This work will continue during the same hours throughout the week, as needed.
Motorists should be alert and watch for stopped or slow-moving traffic.
PennDOT has said that other impacts related to this highway reconstruction project include nighttime right lane restrictions on northbound I-83 between Exit 44B (19th Street) and Exit 45 (Paxton Street). Exit 45 (Paxton Street) will be closed during nighttime hours.
