SATURDAY: Colder, Breezy. Hi 35. Winds: W 10-15 mph. Gusts to 30 mph.

The clipper system that we’ve been tracking since early in the week has made it’s way through the Midwest and is now poised to bring significant snow to the Midstate. Snow will get started around 8pm Friday with snow showers, before becoming steadier around 10pm. Activity will continue until around sunrise Saturday with steady snow, with some leftover snow shower activity throughout the morning.
A fluffy, fast accumulating snow will product 3 and 7 inches for the viewing area. Locally higher amounts will be possible in locations, mostly on the mountaintops. The nature of the snow, which will be drier and fluffier means that it will accumulate faster and will also be easier to clean up in the morning. Still, we recommend being cautious about traveling early Saturday morning.
The rest of Saturday will feature highs in the mid 30s with a northwest breeze between 10-15mph. Mild air returns early next week with highs in the 40s and perhaps nearing 50°.
