The Lower Merion High School boys’ basketball team, with a 21-1 regular season record, is seeded first in the PIAA District 1 6A tournament. The Aces’ only loss during the regular season was a 65-62 loss to Stow-Munroe High School (Ohio) on Dec. 28. Since then, the Aces have enjoyed a 12-game winning streak, with the last victory a 65-50 win against Haverford High School Feb. 6.
The Aces have a first-round bye, and on Feb. 20 will face the winner of the No. 16 seed Conestoga vs. No. 17 seed Neshaminy game, to be played Feb. 16.
Also in the District 1 6A boys tournament, No. 19 seed Harriton will face No. 14 seed Garnet Valley Feb. 16.
In the District 1 5A boys tourney, No. 3 seed Radnor will have a first-round bye, and on Feb. 21 will face the winner of the Sun Valley (6th seed) vs. Marple Newtown (11th seed) game, to be played Feb. 16.
In the District 1 6A girls tournament, No. 2 seed Conestoga has a first-round bye, and on Feb. 21 will face the winner of the Unionville (15th seed) vs. Council Rock South (18th seed),, to be played Feb. 16.
No. 4 seed Haverford has a first-round bye, and on Feb. 21 will face the winner of the Abington (13th seed) vs. Great Valley (20st seed) game, to be played Feb. 16.
In the District 1 5A girls tournament, No. 3 seed Radnor has a first-round bye, and on Feb. 20 will play the winner of Villa Maria Academy (No. 6 seed) vs. Sun Valley (No. 11 seed), to be played Feb. 16.
