Well friends, we’ve reached the end of the annual New Year New Room Refresh Challenge, and I’m not quite “finished” with this bathroom makeover. However, I’ve crossed the majority of the DIY portion off my to-do list, so I’m calling this challenge a win! Phase one was all about adding molding and color to this space, and I’m in love with the impact just these two simple changes have made in here.
If you remember, last week I was still waffling between painting the walls or painting the molding with this deep, rich, warm brown (Madeira Wine from the Historic Charleston Duron Collection for Sherwin Williams) paint color. And I’m so glad I decided to go with my gut instinct. I really LOVE the way the crisp white (Charleston White) molding contrasts against these brown walls.
And peep that little black trim detail!
The details are always my favorite elements in design. Painting this top piece of trim black instead of white adds subtle interest, feels a bit unexpected, and plays so nicely with the other black elements in the space.
With the larger DIYs behind me, I’m excited to get to the fun part of this bathroom makeover – styling! Stay tuned as I “finish” this space over the next few weeks. It’s already come so far. I wish I had a better before photo, but this will have to do.
It’s amazing what paint and molding can do in a space!
Participating in this Challenge is always such a fun way to kick off the year! Check out all the amazing transformations from the participants here:
