RIDGWAY, Pa. (WTAJ) – Penn Highlands Healthcare announced that it plans to close one of its senior living facilities.
According to a press release, Penn Highlands has notified the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services that it will be closing Ridgmont Personal Care Facility located in Ridgway, Elk County.
Residents, their families and the facility’s staff were told that the personal care community will close in spring 2024.
The senior living facility can house up to 40 residents and is currently providing care for 21 older adults. Penn Highlands said it would assist moving current residents and their belongings into Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor or Penn Highlands WRC Laurelbrooke Personal Care, both in Brookville, as well as Penn Highlands WRC Edgewood Heights in New Bethlehem if residents choose to accept these accommodations.

Employees at Ridgmont will be offered incentives to remain with the facility until it closes and will be given the opportunity to apply to open positions within the Penn Highlands Healthcare system.
