Gas Main Work to Commence on February 5
New Jersey Natural Gas will install approximately 2,000 feet of new gas main along Old Denville Road, from the intersection with Tourne Road to Powerville Road.
Work is set to begin on February 5 and is expected to last about four weeks.
Working hours will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Old Denville Road from McCaffrey Lane to Powerville Road will be closed for the project’s duration, and a detour will be in place for traffic. Expect delays and plan accordingly.
Detour for northbound traffic on Norris Road/Old Denville Road:
- Northbound traffic on Norris Road/Old Denville Road will be detoured to make a right onto McCaffrey Lane. Traffic will then turn left onto Powerville Road, leading to Old Denville Road.
Detour for southbound traffic on Powerville Road:
- At the intersection of Powerville Road and Old Denville Road, southbound traffic on Powerville Road will be detoured to continue traveling south. Traffic will then make a right turn onto McCaffrey Lane, leading to Old Denville Road/Norris Road.
Detour for northbound traffic on Powerville Road:
- At the intersection of Powerville Road and Old Denville Road, northbound traffic on Powerville Road will be detoured to continue traveling north, then directed to bear left onto Valley Road. Traffic will then make a left turn onto Rockaway Valley Road and continue along Rockaway Valley Road/Diamond Spring Road. Traffic will then make a left turn onto Pocono Road, leading to Old Denville Road/Norris Road.
Residents within the closure limits will have access. Traffic directors will be on-site to assist these vehicles through the work zone.
