The Philadelphia Union has made a new addition to their team.
Attacker, Markus Anderson, was signed to a 3-year contract from CF Rayo Majadahonda.
Anderson will play for the Union through 2026, with an additional option to extend his contract until 2028.
20-year-old Anderson comes to Philly from Spain’s third-tier league, Primera Federación, where he played for CF Rayo Majadahonda for three seasons.
“After initially playing in the fifth division in Spain, he was able to quickly progress to the third division where he has been performing well at a very young age. He is another great example of how adept our scouting department is at identifying talent and we look forward to integrating him as quickly as possible with the team,” said Philadelphia Union Sporting Director, Ernst Tanner.
During the 2023 season, Anderson made scored three goals, marking his debut on April 9, 2023, against Algeciras CF. Anderson started his career at the Manhattan Kickers FC.
