Teen arrested for September carjacking in Middle Hill

A teen was arrested Tuesday for an alleged carjacking in Pittsburgh’s Middle Hill neighborhood back in September.Treamon Thomas, 16, was arrested in Homewood North, Pittsburgh Public Safety officials said. He had a firearm on him at the time of his arrest. According to Thomas’ criminal complaint, a woman told police about seven to eight young people approached her just before 2 a.m. on Sept. 23 on Webster Avenue. Two of the teens pointed guns at the woman and fled with her 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee.Police took both teens into custody a few hours later in Wilkinsburg after a chase that ended with the vehicle crashing. Thomas is being charged as an adult, while the other suspect is being charged as a teen.Traemon Thomas is facing conspiracy, robbery of a motor vehicle, simple assault and other charges.
