Michael Francis Ward, age 65, of Wall Township, passed away peacefully on January 8th, surrounded by his loved ones. Michael valiantly fought several health challenges over the past few years, including multiple bouts with cancer.
Born and raised in the heart of Jersey City, he held a deep pride in his roots.
Despite his health battles, Mike lived every day with a “PMA” – Positive Mental Attitude. His joy was found in the company of family and friends, treasuring every shared moment. He was a devoted fan of the Yankees, Giants, Knicks, and Fighting Irish. From an early age, Mike was a lover of music, especially Bruce Springsteen. His favorite moments included seeing a show at the Stone Pony or simply putting on a great record.
Michael is predeceased by his beloved parents, Francis and Marilyn Ward. Left to cherish his memory are his four children and their spouses: Gannon and Rebecca Ward, Patrick and Kimberly Ward, Brendan and Kaitlyn Ward, and Frank and Maggie Trofa. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Fiona, Brooks, Sage, Ciaran, Aubrey, Tate, and Ford. He is also survived by his sister Suzanne Weeks and her husband Keith, his brother Sean Ward and his wife Kim, his brother Francis, and his nieces and nephew. Michael is also loved by many cousins and many close friends.
A Celebration of Life, a testament to Michael’s enduring spirit, will take place on his birthday, January 27th, 2024, at Orender Family Home for Funerals, Manasquan, NJ. The visitation will be from 10 am to 1 pm with the celebration of life service beginning at 12:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
