(WHTM) – A decades-long tradition is coming to an end at Penn State Harrisburg.
Every holiday, Doctor Dorothy King writes plays for the university in honor of Doctor Martin Luther King Junior.
Each one dives deep into black history telling the story of the African-American experience.
This year was no different but after 26 plays King says she’s ready to move on to the next chapter.
It’s been a wonderful experience, a wonderful collaboration with Penn Productions and Penn State Harrisburg. I have an awesome ensemble of actors,” said King. “They’ve made my dream of being a playwright come true by supporting me.”
Even though King is done writing plays for the university, she says the campus is still committed to honoring the Martin Luther King Junior holiday.
