(The Hill) — Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) was discharged from the hospital Thursday after receiving treatment for an infection and expects to be back in the Senate soon.
Grassley was admitted to a D.C. hospital where he received antibiotic infusions to treat an infection, and he was in good spirits, his office announced Tuesday.
The statement released Thursday said the senator expects to be back at work next week.
“Thx for ur well wishes & prayers Happy to be home I look fwd to getting back to work,” Grassley posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
Grassley is 90 years old, the oldest and longest-tenured senator, The Hill previously reported.
He earned the distinction as the chamber’s oldest member after Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) died in September.
