Karl Donald King, 73, of Wall Twp., departed this life on January 2, 2024. He was predeceased by his parents, M. Donald King and Dorothy Belz King, and a daughter, Kendra Jane King. He is survived by a son, Christopher King, a daughter, Meredith King, and three grandchildren, James Minarik, Connor Leek, and Elijah King. He is also survived by his former wife and POA Norah Ranck. He is survived by two brothers, David King (Lisa) and Jonathan King (April), and several aunts and uncles.
After suffering a traumatic brain injury in 1983, Karl fought a courageous battle adapting to his disabilities. He was a graduate of Wall High School, and a veteran of the Vietnam War. He had been a welder prior to his accident. Karl was a gentle soul who enjoyed God’s creation, whether as a spectator or hunting and fishing. He enjoyed playing Scrabble with his family, and enjoyed Bingo and Trivia in various facilities in NJ and Pa, where he spent the last 40 years. In his youth he was a communicant and altar boy at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Wall, NJ. Karl will be as greatly missed as he is deeply loved. We are grateful that his long-suffering in this life has ended and that he is now whole and well and resting in God’s arms.
His memorial service will be at the convenience of the family with a private burial planned. You may contact Jersey Shore Cremation Service with expressions of sympathy. In lieu of flowers, please support the Brain Injury Foundation.
Services are entrusted to Jersey Shore Cremation, 43 Taylor Avenue, Manasquan, NJ.
