CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — A Franklin County community is reminding residents and businesses to remove all snow and ice from sidewalks by Thursday.
Chambersburg is advising residents and businesses that on Thursday, Jan. 18, borough representatives will inspect all sidewalks within street wights of way in the borough. Officials will be issuing tickets to owners that fail to clear sidewalks of snow and ice.
The fine amount for the first offense is $50, with a second offense ticket includes a fine of $100. For a second offense ticket to be issued it must occur within 12 months of the first offense.
The borough said that failure to pay the fine would result in a charge being filed with the Magisterial District Judge.
