Allegheny County police are investigating after an emergency medical technician was hit by a vehicle while directing traffic in Harrison Township Saturday afternoon. Police said the crash happened just after 1 p.m. The female medic was slowing vehicles down in the 1600 block of Burtner Road due to the day’s snowy and slick conditions. According to county police, a vehicle slid down the hill and hit the EMT after losing control. A Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 crew on scene saw a significant first-responder presence on scene as well as a black SUV with heavy damage to the front.The medic was taken to the hospital in stable condition, police said.
