Twin Valley senior Anna Leone has been named Twin Valley’s January Intern of the Month.
Always interested in the elementary classroom environment, Leone has always loved working with children. In the past she worked with the High School Heroes Program at Twin Valley High School where she and fellow classmates would read to and mentor students in the elementary centers. This experience peeked her interest and helped her to become aware of her desire to work with children, help them learn and provide support throughout their day.
As a past Twin Valley Elementary Center student, Leone has been able to return to her former school as an intern. Through read-alouds, small group work, and one-on-one lessons, she has formed a strong bond with the students in just four months.
“Anna is an asset in our second-grade classroom,” said her mentor, Becky Weaver. “The children adore her and she has been quick to learn how to support and guide our students to achieve their best. We have been fortunate to have her as a helper in our classroom.”
In addition to her internship, Leone is an avid ice hockey player and works at Texas Roadhouse.
Leone plans on attend Millersville University where she will pursue and earn a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.
