Nov. 20, shoplifting: Security at T.J. Maxx, 550 E. Lancaster Ave., reported a retail theft that had occurred on Nov. 19 at about 6:35 p.m. Store employees reported four Black females entered the store and removed approximately $1,145 worth of merchandise without making payment. The four females were seen leaving the area in a white SUV.
Nov. 24, shoplifting spree: Several retail thefts recently at several businesses. On Nov. 24, a female was seen taking several items from the Little House Shop, located in the Spread Eagle Village Shops. The value was over $1,000, and the suspect’s identity remains under investigation. On Nov. 18, a female was observed taking items from the same store. Through the investigation, police later said the woman had been identified, and charges were pending. Further details were not available.
Nov. 26, commercial burglary: At 8:10 p.m., officers responded to Bryn Mawr Beverage, 196 Landover Road, for an audible alarm. Upon arrival, police quickly identified that a burglary had taken place. Officers observed the front window to the business smashed out and the front door standing open. Subsequent investigation revealed a male had smashed the front window, gathered several items from inside the store, and left through the front door before police arrived.
Nov. 28, shoplifter: About 2:45 p.m., a retail theft occurred at the Wawa at 201 Bryn Mawr Ave. Store employees reported a Black male, wearing a black puffy jacket, fled the store with an undetermined amount of items hidden on his person. Employees told police they believed this was the same male who had been committing thefts from this Wawa over the past several weeks.
Dec. 5, wallet theft: A woman reported that someone took her wallet from inside her purse while shopping at TJ Maxx in St. Davids. Several attempts on the victim’s credit cards were made at nearby businesses within an hour. Police note that generally, there is an uptick in thefts during the holiday season. Residents and shoppers are reminded to be aware of their surroundings and never to leave their belongings unattended while shopping.
