EBENSBURG, Pa. (WTAJ) – The 18th “Dickens of a Christmas” parade took place in the borough of Ebensburg on Saturday morning.
This is an annual family-friendly Christmas celebration inspired by Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” Attendees and vendors dress in Victorian-era inspired costumes for an old-fashioned holiday weekend.
The town hosted several holiday events including a Breakfast with Santa, a Christmas Parade, and a Santa Pub Crawl. Claire Lowmaster, a local business owner, enjoys seeing everyone gather at the parade.
“The camaraderie of our neighborhood and our little town here in Ebensburg is truly special. Everyone comes out for the parade, which is one of the biggest draws. It’s a great opportunity to meet up with all of your friends and neighbors,” Lowmaster said.
Many locals attend the parade, but others travel to Ebensburg to get into the holiday spirit. Colby Davis, a local, said one of his friends came from Dubious to be a part of the experience with him.

“One of my friends came to town all the way from Dubois, and we’re probably going to hang out later. I’m most excited about this because he’s never been to Dickens of a Christmas before, and I get to experience it with him,” Davis said.
