JL Architects, an architectural firm based in West Goshen, Chester County, has been acquired by the California-based PM Design Group, a national architecture and engineering firm. Details of the transaction, completed earlier this month, were not disclosed.
In announcing the transaction, PM Design Group said the addition of JL Architects gives the firm a new presence in the Philadelphia region, and “enriches our team” with the addition of JL Architect’s 12 employees, including John Lister, principal of JL Architects, according to a press release.
The firm is now known as “JL Architects, A PM Design Group Company.”
“This acquisition builds on PM Design Group’s existing expertise and footprint for our national client rollout programs and also adds additional sector portfolio experience to further diversify future project opportunities,” Roy Pedro, president and CEO of PM Design Group, said in a statement.
Pedro added that the addition of the JL Architects team aligns with the company’s strategic growth objectives and allows it “to offer our services efficiently in the Mid-Atlantic.”
Founded in 1988, JL Architects serves clients across the region and nationally. The architectural firm’s portfolio includes retail centers, restaurants, entertainment venues, office buildings, manufacturing facilities, and multifamily housing.
“Joining PM Design Group allows us to offer an even wider range of services to our clients. We’re excited to be part of a growing organization with a coast-to-coast reach,” John Lister, principal of JL Architects, said in a statement.
The transition is already underway, according to the two organizations, with full integration expected by the end of the year.
“We’re dedicated to ensuring a seamless transition for JL Architects and its clients into the PM Design Group culture, maintaining continuity of service throughout this integration process,” the release stated.
PM Design Group was founded in 2009. In addition to its new Chester County location, the company has offices in 13 cities in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Nevada, Ohio, Oregon, Texas and Washington.
