MANASQUAN — Manasquan residents showed up in droves for the 40th annual Turkey Trot on Nov. 18 as racers from all over laced their shoes and took off running. All along the course, friends and family cheered the racers on, some in the crowd dressed as turkeys.
Marking the finish line, located at the Manasquan-Brielle Little League field, was a large inflatable turkey atop a fire engine. While motivational music played over a set of loudspeakers, volunteers manned tables with water bottles and other snacks to help runners replenish their energy after the race.
There was also a tent on the grass where young runners could each receive a medal for their efforts.
The top three male finishers were, in order, Jack Fitzhenry of New Brunswick, Sam Daly of New York City, and Andrew Corcoran of Manasquan.
The top three female finishers were, in order, Katrina Wraga of Toms River, Jenna Fasulo of Yardley, Pennsylvania, and Alyson Kelly of Manasquan.
