James J. ‘Jim’ Fitzpatrick III, 90, of Spring Lake, NJ passed away peacefully on November 17th, surrounded by his family.
Jim was born on February 3, 1933 in Elizabeth, NJ to James J. and Elizabeth Fitzpatrick. While attending Thomas Jefferson High School, he met lifelong friends and the love of his life, Arlene M. Feeney. They soon married and raised a family on Palisade Road in Union. Later, Jim and Arlene moved to Sea Girt, where many wonderful memories with grandchildren began.

Chemlime would become the largest seller of liquid lime in the country for many years until the business was sold in 2021.
Jim was the beloved husband of the late Arlene Fitzpatrick for 59 years. He was a devoted father of Thomas K. Fitzpatrick and wife Sharon, Daniel B. Fitzpatrick and wife Sarah, daughters Janice A Billotte, Kathleen M. Urbinato and husband Stephen, and daughter-in-law Carolyn Fitzpatrick. He would get a special sparkle in his eyes whenever relating the latest accomplishments of his eleven grandchildren and his great granddaughter.
Jim cherished adventures spent with Arlene and family in Vero Beach, FL, and special times spent with the Feeney Clan at the Ashford Castle in Ireland and in the South of France. He loved the horses and had many great times at Monmouth, Saratoga, Gulfstream and Las Vegas.
Jim is also survived by his brother, John T. ‘Jack’ Fitzpatrick and his many loving nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his loving wife Arlene, his sister Peggy Lutz and his beloved sons, Michael C. Fitzpatrick, John A. Fitzpatrick, James L. Fitzpatrick and grandson Zachary S. Billotte.
Jim will be fondly remembered as a kind, generous, intelligent man who enjoyed his golden years with his loving partner, Barbara Doherty, and his friends from the Essex and Sussex and the Belmar Fishing Club.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the visitation on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Reilly Bonner Funeral Home, 801 D Street, Belmar, NJ 07719.
