Ambridge Area High School was placed on lockdown Friday after an 18-year-old allegedly trespassed.
The suspect is accused of using a false last name to gain entry to the school to have lunch with his 15-year-old sister.
Several parents told Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 that when someone enters the school, they have to go through security and sign in.
According to court documents, 18-year-old Anthony Mosca, from New York, did sign in but used a false last name and was given a pass.
“Make sure that my child is safe when she comes through that door,” Charlene Johnson said.
That’s Charlene Johnson’s request always, but specifically, Friday night, after she learned from her daughter, who is a student, that a non-student was allowed inside.
“She said a kid had to come in the school, and they didn’t know he was in there,” Johnson said. “My thing is, how did he get in there with security at the front door? There’s a police officer there every day.”
According to court documents, around noon, police were informed by school staff that an 18-year-old, later identified as Mosca, entered the school, had lunch with his 15-year-old sister, and then attempted to take her out of school.
The school was placed on lockdown.
Police said surveillance footage shows Mosca in the security area with a group of students, where police say he signed in under a different last name and was given a pass.
