Easiest Candy Cane Wreath Tutorial

Make this simple DIY candy cane wreath in just a few minutes!

Materials

• 18 regular-sized candy canes, wrapped
• Ribbon for hanging
• Embellishments for center of wreath (I used a dollar store plastic snowflake and glitter bow for 2 different wreaths)
• Hot glue sticks and hot glue gun

Add a couple boxes of candy canes to your next grocery pickup order and you’ll be ready to craft!

Step 1: Make Candy Cane Hearts

Yes, a simple heart shape is what starts this snowflake shape candy cane wreath!

Take two of your candy canes, add two beads of hot glue to one candy cane at the curved tip and the tip of the long end, and press to the second candy cane until dry.

The candy canes will be form a heart shape when you’re done, connected at the top crooks and the long stems.

Repeat with the remaining pairs of candy canes, giving you 9 heart shapes. I did this step on a piece of parchment paper so that the candy canes didn’t stick to anything.

Step 2: Glue Candy Canes Together

Place the candy cane heart shapes into a circle wreath shape (see image). Glue candy canes together along the long stems, moving clockwise, until all candy canes are attached to each other and form a complete circle.

Let dry.

Step 3: Decorate

Hot glue an embellishment in the middle of your wreath. This makes it even more decorative while also helping secure the candy canes so the wreath holds its shape. You can use a dollar store snowflake, bow, or other ornament. A large flat surface helps when gluing it to the wreath. Greenery with evergreens and red berries (and maybe a few pinecones!) looks nice, too.

Step 4: Add Ribbon Hanger

Use scissors to cut a piece of ribbon the right length for hanging. Loop the ribbon through one of the candy cane curves and tie a bow or hot glue the ends of the ribbon together.

Doesn’t this candy cane look so festive and fun! It will look great on the door or anywhere you would hang a wreath! Make a bunch to hang on your kitchen cabinets or to share with friends and neighbors.
