On October 14, the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair (DHSCF) hosted their 2023 class of “Devon Legends” ball.
This black-tie dinner event was held at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore and included dinner, live music, and dancing with an award ceremony.
The honorees represented the top athletes in equestrian competitions including renowned Olympians, national champions, as well as those leaders and supporters who have helped make the DHSCF an elite equestrian event with world-class competition.
As part of the evening, the 2023 Legends had their portraits taken that will be added to the “Legends Wall” in the Trophy Room at Devon.
The following 2023 inductees were awarded their metals at the event: Olin Armstrong, Pam Baker, Buddy Brown, Charlie Jacobs, Laura Kraut, Walter “Jimmy” Lee, Danny Robertshaw, Joy Slater, and Dr.Betsee Parker.
The following individuals were recognized posthumously: Richard McDevitt (accepted by Colt McDevitt), Louis Piancone (accepted by Teri Piancone), Judy Richter (accepted by Philip Richter), Hope Montgomery Scoot (accepted by Wayne W. Grafton), and Sallie and Kenneth Wheeler (accepted by Carl Meister)
