October is my favorite month of the year! It’s my birthday month and our wedding anniversary month, so Halloween makes it the perfect trifecta of fun celebrations! I enjoy decorating for Halloween, but I like to keep it pretty simple. Instead of sprinkling seasonal decor around the whole house, I focus on just a few spaces.
For the front exterior this year, I added a few 5 ft. skeletons in a couple of places and called it a day. And this flying witch I hung on a plant hook makes me ridiculously happy! It moves around with the wind and feels so fun and whimsical!
As much as I love seeing this flying witch when I pull into the driveway…
I think I love it even more from the inside looking out! Zip ties worked like a charm to hold the broom in place.
The wreaths I made also look great from both directions.
Apparently, I’m in my witch skeleton era because I also added one to our entry foyer this year. This one I dressed in an old flapper costume of mine to zhush it up a bit. Peep the gold eyes and nose where I used a little of my beloved rub ‘n buff in gold leaf. This brass and copper pumpkin is my favorite Halloween decor accessory that I thrifted a couple of years ago, but I found an almost identical one here.
This vignette is especially fun at night! I used a magic bulb in this lamp where I don’t have an outlet nearby, and it gives off the perfect amount of light.
The entry foyer is the only indoor space I decorated for the holiday this year, apart from adding some white pumpkins to the mantel in my living room. But I had a lot of fun decorating our downstairs patio, which I’ve already shared!
