Thomas Edison State University Foundation announced its inaugural TESU Impact Awards event last week marked an exciting evolution from the foundation’s traditional gala.
The event was a celebration of Thomas Edison State University‘s commitment to education and the tremendous impact it has had on the community. After 31 years of hosting the Grand Ball Gala, the event’s primary goal remained unchanged: to provide a special evening of purpose that recognizes outstanding honorees, celebrates TESU’s influence and raises vital funds to support the university’s mission.
This year’s TESU Impact Awards featured three honorees, each of whom has made a significant impact on both the University and the community:
- Ahmed Azmy, president of Azmy Architects and a long-serving TESU Foundation board member, was recognized for his unwavering dedication to the university and his instrumental role in shaping its future;
- Frank Clyburn, CEO of IFF and former chair of the TESU board and foundation board member, received recognition for his leadership and commitment to advancing the university’s mission;
- Jeannine Frisby LaRue, senior vice president of the Zita Group, was honored for her impact and outstanding contributions to the community and her dedicated efforts in supporting TESU’s mission.
The event marked a new chapter in the foundation’s history, highlighting its commitment to recognizing those who have helped make a lasting impact on education and the community. Approximately $80,000 was raised. This money will play a crucial role in supporting the university’s priority initiatives.
