Underscoring its commitment to fostering an inclusive workforce within the insurance industry, Crum & Forster — a leading national property, casualty and accident & health insurer headquartered in Morristown — announced it established the Crum & Forster Scholarship in partnership with New Jersey City University.
The scholarship is designed to reach a diverse range of NJCU students and provide equitable opportunities for all.
In addition to financial support, scholarship recipients will be eligible for a 12-week paid internship. The internship will include mentorship from senior leaders at C&F, access to networking and career resources and participation in workshops and events.
“We are grateful to Crum & Forster for investing in the lives of our remarkable students,” NJCU interim President Andrés Acebo said. “If you are seeking a diverse and inclusive workforce, higher education is the ideal place to start looking. What makes this scholarship so unique is not only the generous financial support for our students, but also the critically important benefits of professional development and mentorship, which underserved students too often do not receive. NJCU is pleased to count Crum & Forster as a business community partner and, as such, a catalyst for empowering our students.”
“We are pleased to announce the partnership with NJCU and the launch of our scholarship program for the 2023-2024 school year,” Barbra Katz, chief human resources officer at Crum & Forster, said. “At C&F, we firmly believe that, by investing in the education and professional development of NJCU students, we are not only contributing to their individual growth, but also playing a pivotal role in introducing the next generation to rewarding careers in the insurance industry.”
